Plan your local garden-waste service

Collection season and festive changes

The rolling service provides 24 fortnightly collections, normally on the alternate week to general waste. There is a four-week suspension over Christmas and New Year, with exact dates shown on the annual calendar.

Container options

Each subscription supplies one 240-litre brown wheeled bin, with up to three subscriptions per property. Put loose garden waste in the bin—no liners or side waste—and present the closed bin at the boundary by 6am.

Renewal and service dates

A subscription runs for 12 months from the first collection. The published 2026/27 schedule lists £60 per bin, and renewal reminders are sent about six weeks before expiry.

Concessions and payment support

The published reduced rate is £43.20 per bin for eligible Council Tax Support Scheme customers. Other benefits and reductions do not qualify for that price.

If your garden-waste collection is missed

Check the basics. Wait until after 6pm, then report a correctly presented missed garden-waste bin within two full working days. Leave it out after reporting; SWISCo arranges a replacement collection where appropriate.
Use the official reporting route. Reporting windows differ, so follow the live council instructions rather than waiting for the next collection.
