Collection season and festive changes

The subscription runs for 12 months from the service start and provides fortnightly collections. Joint Waste Solutions may suspend it for two weeks over Christmas and New Year.

Renewal and service dates

The service normally uses a 240-litre garden-waste bin; a smaller bin can be requested, but Surrey Heath does not offer reusable garden-waste sacks. The current price is shown during application.

Concessions and payment support

Residents receiving certain qualifying benefits can ask about the concessionary rate by calling the contact centre. Renewal reminders are issued before the subscription expires.

If your garden-waste collection is missed

Check the basics. Wait until after 4pm on collection day, check for a recorded presentation problem, then report a genuine miss within two working days.
Use the official reporting route. Reporting windows differ, so follow the live council instructions rather than waiting for the next collection.

What can go in the garden-waste container?

Accepted

Grass cuttings, leaves, flowers, plants, weeds, hedge trimmings, prunings, twigs and suitable small branches.

Not accepted

Food waste, soil, rubble, stones, plastic bags, plant pots, pet waste and household rubbish.
