Collection season and festive changes
The paid service follows the recycling-day calendar and starts rounds from 6am. The 2026/27 permit runs to 31 March 2027, with extra permitted sack collections in specified spring and autumn weeks.

£78 full year The permit runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. £39 half year A half-year permit is offered from October to January. Permit required Display the current permit on the brown bin lid.
Renewal and service dates
A full-year permit costs £78. From 1 October 2026 a six-month permit costs £39 and runs to 31 March 2027; the current sticker must be fixed clearly to the brown-bin lid.
Concessions and payment support
The checked council page does not publish a standard concessionary price. The reduced £39 amount is a half-year permit, not a means-tested discount.

What can go in the garden-waste container?
Accepted
Grass cuttings, leaves, weeds, flowers, plants, hedge clippings, prunings and suitable small branches.
Not accepted
Food waste, soil, rubble, stones, plastic bags, plant pots, pet waste and general rubbish.

Suitable household garden waste can be taken to the area’s recycling-centre alternative.
