The service gives 25 fortnightly collections over a rolling year, with no collections during the two-week Christmas pause. Check the portal for bank-holiday dates.

Renewal and service dates

A subscription costs £55 per bin for 12 months from the joining or renewal date. A council 240-litre green bin costs £52; up to four bins and matching subscriptions can be purchased.

Concessions and payment support

A 50% subscription discount applies where the property’s sole occupants receive Pension Credit. Eligibility is confirmed through the Waste and Recycling Portal.

If your garden-waste collection is missed

Check the basics. Present the numbered council green bin by 6am with the lid closed. Report through the portal after the street is marked complete, on the same day or by the end of the next day.

What can go in the garden-waste container?

Accepted

Grass cuttings, leaves, flowers, plants, weeds, hedge trimmings, prunings, twigs and suitable small branches.

Not accepted

Food waste, soil, rubble, stones, plastic bags, plant pots, pet waste and ordinary household rubbish.
