Collection season and festive changes
Cornwall Council may alter collections over Christmas, New Year or severe weather. Check its current service notice before putting the container out during holiday periods.
Container options
£76 for 240 litres The largest wheeled-bin subscription runs from 1 April to 31 March. £58 for 140 litres A smaller wheeled-bin subscription is available. £30 for a 70-litre bag The reusable-bag option is suited to smaller gardens.

What can go in the garden-waste container?
Accepted
Grass cuttings, leaves, weeds, flowers, plants, hedge trimmings, twigs and small branches that fit inside the subscribed container.
Not accepted
Food waste, soil, rubble, stones, plastic bags, plant pots, large branches, pet waste and general household rubbish.
When the collection service is not suitable
Local recycling-centre alternative
For garden waste that is too large, too heavy or not accepted in the collection, use the household recycling-centre guidance for the Cornwall Council area. Check the official page before travelling because booking rules, opening hours and accepted materials can change.
Extra local guidance
