Collection season and festive changes

The 2026/27 permit operates from 13 April 2026, with fortnightly brown-bin collections. Food waste remains collectable without a garden-waste permit.

Renewal and service dates

A 2026/27 permit costs £60 for each brown bin and runs until 11 April 2027. The price does not reduce if bought part-way through the permit year.

Concessions and payment support

Eligible households, including qualifying Council Tax Reduction recipients, can receive a free concession permit. Allow up to 21 days for a requested permit.

Check the basics. Display the valid permit and put the brown bin out for its scheduled collection. Wait until after collection day before using Stirling’s missed-bin reporting route.

What can go in the garden-waste container?

Accepted

Grass cuttings, leaves, flowers, plants, weeds, hedge clippings, prunings, twigs and suitable small branches.

Not accepted

Food waste, soil, rubble, stones, plastic bags, plant pots, pet waste and ordinary rubbish.

When the collection service is not suitable

Extra local guidance

The full permit price applies even if purchased after the season begins. Eligible residents may qualify for the council’s concessionary permit arrangements.
