The 2026 season provides 21 collections from 2 March to 18 December, with no routine collections outside that fixed period.

£46 per bin The full price applies whenever you join. Ready by 6.30am Each green bin must display its permit sticker. An additional or replacement bin costs £36.50, and the council allows more than one subscribed garden-waste bin.

The 2026 fee is £46 per green bin, payable in full whenever you join. An additional or replacement bin carries a £36.50 delivery and administration charge, and the permit may take 14 working days.
Concessions and payment support
St Helens states there are no concessions or part-year reductions. Neighbours may share one registered bin collected from one property.

What can go in the garden-waste container?
Accepted
Grass cuttings, leaves, flowers, plants, weeds, hedge trimmings, prunings, twigs and suitable small branches.
Not accepted
Food waste, soil, rubble, stones, plastic bags, plant pots, pet waste and ordinary household rubbish.

Suitable household garden waste can be taken to the area’s recycling-centre alternative.
